In Indo Hap Ki Do, there are both physical and mental aspects of training. The physical training in Indo Hap Ki Do is diverse, covering general physical fitness and conditioning, as well as specific techniques. Because a substantial portion if Indo Hap Ki Do curriculum consists of throws, the first thing most students learn is how to safely fall or roll. The specific techniques for attack include both strikes and grabs; the techniques for defense consist of throws and pins. After basic techniques are learned, students move over to advance techniques. Hapkido training takes place in a dojang. Strength is not a pre-requisite of hapkido; what strength and fitness is neccessary to perform the techniques develops naturally as a result of training. 

INDO HAP KI DO as envisioned by its founder Master Tarun Roy Choudhury, is not only the synthesis of the founders martial training, but also the expression of his personal philosophy of honesty, loyalty and respect.He was Born in Barma(Rangoon),he started his Martial Art career with Barmese Boxing.He has remained associated with martial arts over 36 years with an experince of life.Using his vast knowledge and understanding of different fighting styles, he created Indo Hapkido, aiming to infuse in its students a strong sense of discipline and character.

 THE SPIRIT OF HAP KI DO: Hap ki do is a self-defence art. what separates the techniques in Hapkido from other forms of self-defence and is an important aspect in defining Hapkido, as an art is the usr of ki or vital energy. Pusuing a understanding and use of ki is important for every hapkidoin. In Indo Hap ki do ki is externalized by two distinct reactions.
